Valentine’s Weekend Tablaos at Casa Flamenca

February 16 @ 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm

$31.17
Flamenco Tablao Albuquerque

Bring your special Valentine to Casa Flamenca as we kick off our 2020 tablao performances with a special Valentine’s weekend of shows in the heart of Albuquerque’s Old Town district. We bring you a spectacular lineup of world-class artists in an intimate venue reminiscent of the clubs of Andalusia, Spain.

What is a tablao?

A tablao is a place where flamenco shows are performed as well as the colloquial term used for the tablado or platform floor on which a flamenco dancer dances. Tablao venues were established during the 1960s throughout Spain, replacing the cafés cantantes (cabarets) and are mostly found today in the Andalusia region of Spain. Casa Flamenca is proud to offer an authentic Spanish tablao experience in Albuquerque, New Mexico. At Casa Flamenca, the tablao dancers, singers, and musicians captivate the audience in an intimate gathering. The intricacy of the guitar work, the haunting soul of the song, the rhythms of the dance vibrating through the floorboards and your feet… A Casa Flamenca tablao is an experience you won’t forget! Please join us! Round out your experience – BYOB and tapas!

This winter’s artists include:

Juani de la Isla is a world-renowned flamenco guitarist from Isla San Fernando in southern Spain. He has accompanied and composed for some of the greatest flamenco artists of this century. For over a decade, he was Musical Director for the popular flamenco singer “El Barrio”. His recording career includes participation on more than 100 albums with some of Spain’s finest flamenco artists as well as his solo CD, Libertad en Mis Manos. He returns for a second season with Casa Flamenca’s tablaos and our community workshop, Flamenco without Borders.

She serves as Artistic and Executive Director of Casa Flamenca.
