Carmen Ledesma Dance Workshop at Casa Flamenca
July 9 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm$103.2 – $123.78
As a highlight of the season, Casa Flamenca welcomes back flamenco living legend Carmen Ledesma. The achievements of Carmen Ledesma go back to 1960, when she made her debut at only four years of age. She trained under the legendary Enrique el Cojo, one of the founders of Seville’s unique style of flamenco dance. In 1983, she was awarded the prestigious Juana la Macarrona Prize at the National Flamenco Art Contest of Córdoba. She later went on to work with such greats as Antonio Gades in the National Ballet of Spain and in the famed companies of Mario Maya, El Farruco, and Curro Vélez, among other great dance figures. She is considered one of today’s most significant performers and one of the most recognized teachers and interpreters of the Sevillian school of flamenco. Carmen Ledesma returns to Casa Flamenca July 4th-13th for a series of special tablaos and dance workshops.
Workshop dates Monday, July 8th 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm and Tuesday, July 9th 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm
